Description
Alveston House is an early 19th-century building that has been converted into offices. It is constructed of red brick, with some yellow brick, laid in Flemish bond. The roof is made of plain tiles and features brick dogtooth eaves and shared end stacks. The house has a central staircase plan and stands three storeys tall with a cellar.
The exterior has a three-window range. On the first floor, there are two 8/8 boxed sash windows and a central 6/6 boxed sash window, all featuring painted channelled voussoirs, keystones, and sills. Above, there are smaller 4/4 sash windows and a central 3/3 sash window. The ground floor has two similar 8/8 sash windows. The central doorcase is adorned with a Classical architrave that includes pilasters and an open pediment, along with a Gothick-traceried fanlight and a six-panel door, which is accessed via a stone step. There is a rendered plinth with a cellar grille. The interior has not been inspected.
