Description
The Commons is a house dating from the 17th century that was restored in the mid-20th century. It features a timber-framed structure with rendered and painted brick infill and a thatched roof. The house has two framed bays aligned north to south and an external chimney with offsets located to the left of the south elevation. It is a single storey with an attic that includes dormers.
The east front elevation has 2-light 20th-century leaded casement windows. The ground floor features a single window and an eyebrow dormer cut into the thatch above. The entrance is located in a thatched timber-framed 20th-century lean-to porch on the right, which has a latticed light on the front and a stable door on the left side. The interior has not been inspected. There is a large two-storey extension from the 20th century at the north gable end. The Commons is part of the former Bearcroft Estate.
