Description

Temple Broughton Farmhouse is an early 18th-century farmhouse, likely built on the site of an earlier structure, with alterations and additions made in the mid-19th century. It is constructed of brick, some handmade, with a plain tiled roof and a brick ridge stack. The farmhouse is two storeys and an attic, with a three-course band dividing the storeys. The south front has four bays. The windows are 12-pane sashes, each with a cambered head. The windows in the first bay and the ground-floor window of the third bay have side lights. The main entrance is located immediately to the right of the second bay window and features a gabled, timber-framed 19th-century porch with lattice detail in the gable, and a 6-panelled door with a cambered head. The gable ends have attic lights. The interior was not inspected, but is reported to contain a good staircase. 19th-century additions are present to the rear of the building.
