Description
Temple Barn is an 18th-century barn located in Hanbury, specifically at Harmans Hill. It features a timber-framed structure that is weatherboarded and sits on a base of sandstone rubble, topped with a plain tiled roof. The barn consists of six framed bays running north to south, with the second and fifth bays designed as wagon bays that include opposed cart entries with double doors.
Inside, the barn showcases framing with long rectangular panels extending from the sill to the wall-plate, complemented by long straight braces in the lower corners. The roof structure includes two tiers of purlins and collar and tie-beam trusses, while the intermediate trusses are supported by raking struts leading to the lower tier of purlins. The end trusses are not visible.
