Description

Nos 2 and 4, Merstow Place are probably of early 16th century origin, but have undergone significant alterations over time. The building is constructed of stone, now faced in stucco, and is arranged over two storeys with a band running horizontally across the facade. Pseudo-quoins are present at the sides. There are two modern casement windows on each floor, replacing earlier sash windows. The doorways have been altered and now feature modern doors. The building has a tiled roof. Internally, the ceilings are exposed with original beams. Each property contains a plain 18th century staircase, with the staircase in No 4 being within more recent panelling.
