Two Barns And Out Houses About 50 Metres West Of Sheriff'S Lench Manor Farmhouse

Two barns and out houses located about 50 metres west of Sheriff's Lench Manor Farmhouse date from the early 19th century. They are constructed of brick with a tiled roof and are aligned north to south under one roof. The east front features nine major bay divisions, with alternate bays having gables. From left to right, there is a segmental-headed cart entrance in a segmental-headed recess, a semi-circular headed recess under a gable, a segmental-headed opening in a segmental-headed recess, and three openings below a gable. The central tall opening has a semi-circular head with a loft door above it, flanked by two lower openings containing windows. There are also semi-circular headed openings with low walls, a semi-circular headed barn door under a gable, and another semi-circular headed opening with a low wall. Additionally, there is a barn entrance under a gable featuring a circular owl hole, and a gable over a blind semi-circular headed recess. This impressive range of well-preserved farm buildings is marked on the Tithe map of 1843.
