Description
The retaining wall, balustrade, and lamp standard in front of Wood Norton Hall were built in 1897 by G.H. Hunt for the Duc d'Orleans. The structure features a stone rubble retaining wall topped with a freestone balustrade that includes terracotta balusters. This wall serves as a revetment for the garden located on the south front of Wood Norton Hall and curves around at its east end. At this end, there is an ornate lamp standard with a globe-shaped lantern topped by a crown.
