Description

St Michael’s Cottage is a late 17th-century house, altered in the 20th century. It is constructed of limestone rubble and has a thatched roof. The building is single-storey with an attic. The ground floor features three casement windows with plain reveals and timber lintels, and there are three eyebrow dormers. A doorway was blocked between the second and third bays. An early 20th-century addition is set back to the left, featuring a window to the left of a door with plain reveals; the thatch extends forward to form a porch over this addition. Chimneys are located to the right of the left-hand window and on the right-hand gable. Inside, the right-hand room contains a stone inglenook with a bressummer featuring 17th-century style lamb's tongue stops.
