Description

Fern House is a late 18th-century house with early 19th-century remodelling and later alterations, located on Bridge Street in Pershore. The house is constructed of red brick in a Flemish bond pattern. It has a renewed tile roof with painted brick dogtooth eaves and a brick end stack on the left side.

The building is three storeys high plus a cellar. The second floor features three small 3/6 sashes, each set beneath a gauged brick flat arch. A two-storey canted bay window has been added to the left of the first and ground floors. This bay window contains 4/4:6/6:4/4 sashes, projecting sills, a cornice, a flat leaded roof, and a cellar grille set within a brick apron. Above the bay window on the first floor is a name plaque and a boxed sash window with an arch and sill similar to those on the bay. To the right of the bay window on the first floor is a similar sash, and on the ground floor, a matching sash window beside the main entrance. The entrance has three stone steps leading to a six-panel door, surmounted by a fanlight with radial glazing bars; a panelled reveal, and fluted pilasters supporting an entablature with an enriched open pediment. A side passage entrance has been renewed with an arch. The house has a part-painted brick plinth. The interior has not been inspected.
