Description
Gothic House is a late 18th/early 19th century house with alterations from the later 19th century. It is constructed of red brick in a Flemish bond pattern, with a Welsh slate roof. The roof has a painted moulded eaves cornice and a brick end stack on the left side. The house is three storeys high, with a cellar, and has a two-window front. On the first floor are 6/6 sash windows with painted channelled voussoirs, keystones and moulded sills. Above are smaller 3/6 sash windows. The left side of the ground floor features a bay window with a pitched leaded roof, a deep enriched cornice, plate glazing with Gothic tracery, and a stone sill. To the right of the bay window is a four-panel door, below a fanlight with radial glazing bars in a 4-centred-arched moulded stone surround with a hoodmould. To the right again is a six-panel door below a stone lintel with a similarly-arched recess. The house has a stone plinth with cellar grilles. The interior has not been inspected.
