Description
Melrose is a house dating from the late 18th century to early 19th century, which has been altered. It is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond and features a plain tile roof with painted brick dentilled eaves and two end stacks on the right. The building is three storeys high.
On the first floor, there is one 8/8 sash window with painted channelled voussoirs, a keystone, and a sill. Above this, there are two similar 6/6 horned sash windows. The ground floor has an added canted bay window with a pitched slate roof, featuring a combination of 4/4, 8/8, and 4/4 sashes with a sill. To the right, there is a moulded doorcase with a five-panel door, where the top panel is glazed, accessed by two steps. To the left, there is a passage entrance with a timber lintel and visible horizontal timbers in the side wall, along with a painted plinth. The interior has not been inspected.
