Description
39 Bridge Street is a house dating from the late 18th century to early 19th century. It is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond and features a plain tile roof with brick dentilled eaves. The house has brick stacks located at the center of the ridge and at the right end.
The exterior comprises two and three storeys across two bays. The right-hand bay, which is three storeys high, has an 8-pane side-sliding sash window on the second floor and an 8/8 sash window on the first floor. Both of these windows have painted channelled voussoirs, keystones, and sills. On the ground floor, there is a remodelled bay window with plate glazing, deep corner mullions, and a dentilled cornice that also extends over a six-panel door framed by a wooden architrave on the left. The left-hand bay features a large 8/8 sash window with narrow glazing bars, along with similar arch and sill details, situated above a segmental-arched carriage entrance. This entrance is fitted with double plank gates that have metal spikes, and the beams and joists are exposed within the arch. The rear elevation also displays brick dentilled eaves above the carriage entrance. The interior has not been inspected.
