Description
55 and 57 Lowesmoor are two houses that have been converted into shops. They were built in the late 18th century and have undergone several alterations, including changes made around the 1880s, 1970s, and 1990s. The buildings are constructed of reddish-brown brick in Flemish bond, featuring red gauged brick flat arches, a slate roof, and brick end stacks with oversailing courses.
The structure is three storeys high and has three first-floor windows. The first and second floors contain 8/8 and 4/4 sash windows, where original, set in near-flush frames with sills and flat arches made of gauged brick. A modillion eaves band runs along the top. The ground floor features a shop front on the left with a part-glazed door and glazed windows, along with a fascia and blind box. To the right, there is a renewed panelled door and a glazed window with wooden mullions and a transom. The gable ends are raised and coped. The interior has not been inspected.
