Description
This is a 17th-century house, originally aligned east to west, which has been divided into two dwellings. It has undergone alterations and additions in the mid-19th century and mid-20th century. The building has two framed bays, with an external chimney at the west gable. This gable is now enclosed by a single-bay addition that extends the roof ridge. It is a single-story building with an attic, featuring dormers. The timber framing has two panels from the sill to the wall-plate, with long straight braces in the lower corners. There’s a collar and tie-beam truss with three struts at the east gable end. The south front of the original part features tiled weathering at first floor level, along with 4-light ground-floor casement windows. Two gabled dormers have 2-light casements. A half-glazed 20th-century porch with a part-glazed door is positioned centrally, and there is also a glazed door to the far left. A brick addition to the left has a pair of single-light ground-floor casement windows and a multi-paned door with a canopy supported by shaped brackets. Lean-to additions are present at the gable ends. The interior was not inspected.
