Description

This is a house dating from the 17th century, with alterations made in the mid-19th century and mid-20th century. The house is timber-framed and faced with whitened brick, and has plain tiled roofs.

The original plan consisted of three bays aligned east to west. A single bay addition at the west end incorporates what was formerly an external chimney. A 20th-century wing projects to the north from the central bay, and a cross-wing of two bays is situated at the east gable end, prominently featuring a large external chimney with tiled offsets on the east side of the southern bay. A further extension, built in 2001 or 2002, matches the style of the earlier elements.

The house is single-storey with an attic, featuring dormers. The north front has 20th-century casement windows. The main section has a three-light ground floor window with a cambered head, and two flat-roofed dormers with three-light windows. The east gable end of the cross-wing has a two-light ground floor window, an attic window, a glazed door with a cambered head, and a large 20th-century glazed timber porch. A lean-to with a catslide roof is attached to the west.

The interior was not inspected, but is noted to contain heavily beamed ceilings.
