Description
This is a barn located about 10 yards north of Brook Cottage, dating from around 1400 and likely altered in the early 19th century. It features a timber frame and is weather-boarded on a base of rendered rubble and brick, topped with a plain tiled roof. The barn consists of two cruck-framed bays that are aligned roughly north to south. The northern bay contains a wagon bay with opposed cart entries and double doors. There are window openings in both gable ends. Inside, three full collared cruck trusses are present, with mainly two panels extending from the sill to the wall-plate. The roof has one tier of purlins. Additionally, there is a lean-to addition at the north end that originally covered a sawpit, which is now filled in.
