Description
Quarry Farmhouse is a former farmhouse and barn that dates back to the 17th century, with alterations made in the 19th and 20th centuries. The building features a timber-frame structure with brick infill and consists of four bays; the two bays on the left form the house, while the two on the right were originally the barn, which is now used as a storeroom. The farmhouse is 1 and a half storeys tall, with an attic that is lit by two flat-roofed dormers. Each bay of the house has a 20th-century casement window, and there is a 20th-century glazed door located roughly in the center. The former barn has a door towards the left and two casement windows to the left. The framing includes irregular square panels, three high to the wall-plate, with vents in the brick infill of the barn. The rear wall has been significantly reconstructed using rubble. This building is an interesting example of a house and barn combined under one roof.
