Description
Yew Tree Cottage is a cottage dating from the 17th century, with alterations from the 10th and 20th centuries. It features a timber frame set on a concrete plinth, with wattle-and-daub infill and a diamond-shaped asbestos tile roof. There is a large brick and rubble stack on the left, which has a detached brick shaft and a small sidelight for the oven. The cottage is 1½ storeys high, with an attic that is lit by 19th-century dormers with raking tops. On the front, there are two 19th-century casement windows flanking a central 20th-century flat-roofed porch. To the right end, there is a single-storey, 20th-century weatherboarded lean-to shed. The framing consists of two structural bays with three square panels high to the wall plate, and the roof trusses have queen struts supporting the collar.
