Description
This granary and cart shed, located about 30 yards north of Home Farmhouse, dates from the mid-18th century and has undergone later alterations. It is constructed of brick and features a plain tiled roof with parapets at the gable ends. The building is two levels high and has a dentilled eaves cornice. The west elevation consists of four bays with four round-headed archways supported by square brick piers that have chamfered corners. The tympana above the archways are filled with brick on timber lintels. The south gable end includes a blocked round-arched opening, an inserted window to the right, and a loft door to the left, which is accessed by a flight of timber steps. Inside, the roof is supported by three intermediate king-post roof trusses. There is also a single storey and attic, two-bay wing at the north gable end, which features a parapet and a stack. The west elevation has a large 20th-century door and a ledged and battened door with a cambered head. Additionally, there are two attic lights with cambered heads at the gable end.
