Description
The granary and cart shed, located about 25 yards south-west of Moor End Farmhouse, dates from the 18th century and has undergone later alterations. The structure is part timber-framed with brick infill and part brick, featuring a half-hipped plain tiled roof. It consists of three bays aligned west to east and has two levels. The lower level is open, while the upper level is supported on brick piers with bullnosed brick corners. The upper level is timber-framed, with two rows of panels on the side elevations, and the ends have a single row of panels along with a truncated tie-beam truss that includes an interrupted tie-beam and struts. The west end has a square opening, and the east end features brick steps leading up to a doorway flanked by narrow side lights. Inside, there are two intermediate interrupted tie-beam trusses.
