Description

This building is a cow house, stables, and dairy, dating from the mid-18th century. It features a mix of timber framing with brick infill and brick construction, topped with a plain tiled roof. The structure is a long range of about 12 bays, oriented east to west, and has two levels.

The framing includes three panels from the sill to the wall-plate on part of the south elevation, and a single row of panels at eaves level on the north elevation. The main north elevation has six windows on the ground floor, four windows on the upper level, seven doors, and a gabled loft door at the east end. The openings at the east end have cambered heads.

Although the interior is not accessible, there is a former dairy that adjoins the west gable end. This section has a roof with a parapet at the junction and is hipped at the west end, featuring a single level with a dentilled eaves cornice and a door in the north elevation.
