Description
This building is a barn and stables located about 20 yards west of Noverton Farmhouse, dating from the mid-18th century. It is constructed of brick and features a plain tiled roof. The structure is partly two levels and has a dentilled eaves cornice. It is approximately ten bays long, aligned north to south. The barn at the south end consists of three bays, including a central wagon bay with opposed cart entries that have cambered heads. The east elevation includes six windows at ground floor level and eight doors, most of which also have cambered heads. Above these are seven loft openings, and there are external brick steps leading to the loft at the north end. The south gable end features diaper ventilation patterns and an owl hole. Inside, the barn has intermediate king-post trusses.
