Description

The Old School House is a 17th-century cottage located in Alfrick Pound. It is timber-framed and partly supported on a stone rubble plinth, featuring wattle-and-daub infill and a tiled roof. The building consists of two structural bays and is a single storey with an attic that includes dormers. There are four windows on the ground floor, which are 20th-century casements. The cottage has two gabled dormers with casements, as well as an attic casement in the north-east gable end. The central doorway is located on the south-east elevation. A large external chimney has a rubble base and a brick stack with tiled offsets, which is now partly encased by a single bay extension that is part brick and part timber-framed, with a hipped, tiled roof on the south-west gable end.
