Description

The Dell is a cottage, originally built as a pair, in the early 18th century. It features a timber frame with wattle-and-daub infill and a slate roof. The building has two structural bays and a large external chimney on the left gable. It stands two storeys tall, with the front elevation displaying three ground floor casements and two first floor casements, along with three 20th-century doors, two of which are part-glazed. A tiled canopy supported by timber brackets extends the full length of the elevation between the storeys. The external stack on the left gable end has a rubble base and a brick stack with tiled offsets, while the stack on the right gable has been removed. The rear elevation includes an outshut and 20th-century extensions.
