Description
Ridleys is a probable 17th century timber-framed cottage located on Balcombe Road in Pound Hill. It has one storey and attics and has undergone significant restoration and enlargement, including the addition of a modern wing to the northeast. The front features exposed timber framing, with panels that are partly plastered and partly filled with brick. The cottage has an old tiled roof with two small gabled dormers, and the gable ends are fitted with modern bargeboards. There are three casement windows with modern leaded lights and a simple doorcase. It is possible that the original cottage was extended to the west in the 18th century.
