Description
The building is a dairy that has been converted into servants' quarters and is now used as a store. It dates from the mid-18th century and has mid-19th century alterations. The structure is made of brick and features a plain tiled roof with parapets at the gable ends. It has two levels and a dentilled eaves cornice, with two bays.
On the north-west elevation, the ground floor has two 3-light casements with cambered heads and a square light, while the upper level has two 2-light casements and a loft door, all featuring cambered heads. There are also two tall 19th-century brick stacks at the base of the roof pitch. The south-west gable end includes a 2-light ground floor casement with a cambered head, a 2-light casement, and a 3-light casement at the upper level, along with a rectangular light in the gable apex.
Inside, there are intermediate king-post roof trusses and small fireplaces in each bay of the upper level. An attached wall adjoins the right side of the south-west gable end, linking the dairy to The Claywood. This wall is about two yards long and 15 feet high, featuring a central doorway with a cambered head. Note that a 19th-century outbuilding adjoining the north-east gable end of the dairy is not included in the listing.
