Description

This is a mid-18th century farmhouse, largely refronted around 1832. It is constructed of brick with ashlar dressings, a plain tiled roof, and end stacks. The building is two storeys high with a cellar, and has three bays, each with a small gable above. Windows are twelve-pane sashes, set within cambered ashlar surrounds featuring moulded key-blocks and trefoil panels, stone sills, and moulded architraves. A distyle Doric portico on a three-stepped plinth shelters the central entrance, which has a partly-glazed door and a transom light with a central glazing bar. The interior remains uninspected. An 18th century wing extends to the rear right, featuring gable end parapets, a rear external chimney (now enclosed by a later addition), and two storeys with a cogged three-course band marking the division. A large wing to the left of the front entrance is not part of the listed structure. The 19th century additions to the house are likely contemporary with a nearby barn and stables dated 1832.
