Description
Stockton House is a house built around 1698, with alterations made in the late 18th century and mid-19th century. It is constructed of brick and features plain tiled roofs with two spans, elaborately shaped gable ends, and tall chimney stacks at each of the four corners. The building has two storeys, an attic, and a cellar, with a three-course band between the main storeys and at the attic level, as well as a dentilled eaves cornice.
The house has three bays, and all windows are adorned with moulded cornices. The outer bays feature tripartite windows on both storeys. The ground floor windows contain central 4-pane sashes, while the first floor windows have central 12-pane sashes, including the central bay's first floor window. The central entrance is highlighted by a moulded round-arched pilastered surround, deep reveals, a door with six raised and fielded panels, and a fanlight above. A flight of six stone steps leads up to the entrance, which is flanked by decorative cast iron railings and swept handrails. The interior has not been inspected.
