Description
The stables and shelter shed, located about 20 yards north of Upper House Farmhouse, date from the mid-18th century and mid-19th century. They are constructed of coursed rubble with brick dressings and feature a hipped plain tiled roof. The building has two levels and a dentilled eaves cornice, with a total of four bays.
On the east elevation, there are four windows on both the ground and first floors, each with cambered brick heads, alongside five ledged and battened doors, also featuring cambered brick heads. The shelter shed, which adjoins to the northeast, is made of brick and coursed rubble with a plain tiled roof and consists of five bays. The south side of the shelter shed is open, supported by brick piers, although two openings are partly blocked. Inside, the roof is supported by four intermediate king-post trusses.
