Description
Clanmere Nursing and Rest Home, located at 33 and 35 Graham Road, dates from around 1850 and was originally a pair of houses. The building is three storeys high and features a stucco exterior with hipped slate roofs and brackets at the eaves. It has three windows on the upper floor, which are hung sashes with glazing bars and moulded architraves. The first floor has French windows set in architraves, while the ground floor has casements beneath a rusticated finish. A plinth supports the structure, and there is a central round-headed doorway flanked by sidelights. The entrance is adorned with a portico featuring a flat entablature and a blocking course, supported by fluted Ionic columns. Additionally, ornamental cast-iron balconies enhance the first-floor windows.
