Description

The building at 25 Broad Street, New Alresford, dates to circa 1840. It is a stucco building with a slate roof. The symmetrical east front presents three storeys and three windows. It features a moulded eaves cornice and frieze with spaced coupled brackets, architraves, and moulded cill bands beneath the second-floor windows, with brackets. A moulded band runs along the second floor, tying into the friezes of the first-floor windows, which themselves have cornices. There is a deep moulded band at the first floor and a plinth at the base. The windows are sashes with narrow side panes, with Victorian sashes in the angular bays on the south side of the ground and first floors. A garage door with matching surround and panelled doors occupies the ground-floor opening on the north side. The front door includes a cornice on brackets, a three-pane fanlight, and a six-panelled door. The roof is a low-pitched hipped slate roof.
