Description

This cottage, located to the south-east of Birchenhall Farmhouse, dates from the late 17th century. It is timber-framed with wattle-and-daub infill and features a tiled roof. The building consists of three structural bays and has an entrance in the west gable. A large external rubble chimney with a brick stack is present on the north-east elevation. The cottage is a single storey with an attic that includes dormers. The fenestration is irregular, with two metal casements on both the ground and first floors of the south-west elevation. The west gable end has a planked timber door.
