Description
Bentley Farmhouse is a former estate farmhouse that has been converted into a house. It dates from the early 19th century and is constructed of painted brick with a tiled roof featuring overhanging eaves. The building has massive chimney stacks made of three courses of cogged brickwork, with grouped diagonal shafts and oversailing cap courses. It showcases Tudor Gothic detailing.
The farmhouse is two storeys high, with a cellar and an attic that includes gabled dormers. It has a U-shaped plan, and all windows are casements, with the main ground floor windows featuring hood moulds with returns. The entrance is located on the side of the west wing and consists of three bays. This elevation includes two ground floor casements, three first floor casements, and three gabled dormers with pierced bargeboards and casements. The entrance also features a panelled door with a traceried rectangular fanlight beneath a hood mould with returns, along with end brick stacks. Bentley Farmhouse was formerly part of the Dudley estate.
