Description
This stable, located about 10 yards west of Woodcote Farmhouse, dates from the mid-18th century and features alterations and additions from the mid-19th century. It is constructed of brick and has a plain tiled roof. The building has two levels and includes a dentilled eaves cornice and four and a half bays. The south elevation features two ground floor windows and a central doorway, all with cambered heads. To the right, there is a round-headed doorway with a transom light, and to the left, a basket-headed archway with double doors. Two windows are located on the upper level. At the center of the roof ridge, there is a 19th-century square lantern with glazed panels, a frieze pierced with quatrefoils, and a pyramidal lead roof topped with a ball finial and weathervane. External sandstone and brick steps at the east end lead up to a loft door.
