Description

This building is a barn and cow house located about 20 meters north of Longfield Manor. It was probably constructed in 1799, with some alterations made in the mid-20th century. The structure is made of brick and has a concrete tile roof, forming an L-shape with the barn extending to the southwest and the cow house with granary to the southeast.

The barn features four roof bays, with one bay on the left that has a stable door. The other three bays serve as the barn, which includes a central threshing floor. The front of the barn has a gabled porch and hit-and-miss ventilators. The cow house is a single storey with a loft above, adorned with a dog-tooth brick cornice. The ground floor has six openings with shallow segmental heads and boarded doors. At the right-hand end, there is a two-storey building with a granary on the first floor, a dovecote in the gable, and external steps leading to the right-hand wall. The date 1799 is inscribed in a brick to the right of a blocked entrance to the ground floor of the granary. Longfield Manor itself is not included in this listing.
