Description

Lock number 30 on the Worcester and Birmingham Canal was built around 1805, with some repairs made in the late 19th century and mid-20th century. It features a rectangular chamber with stone copings, although some of these have been repaired with brick. At the upper end, there is a single gate, while the lower end has a pair of gates. The mouth of the lock is constructed from blue brick with brick copings and includes steps on the north side. There are 19th-century brick treads for opening the upper lock gates. This lock is part of the Tardebigge Flight, which is the longest flight of locks in England, and is included for its group value.
