Description
Lock number 37 on the Worcester and Birmingham Canal was built around 1805 and has undergone some repairs in the late 19th century and mid-20th century. It features a rectangular chamber with stone copings, although some of these have been repaired with brick. At the upper end, there is a single gate, while the lower end has a pair of gates. The mouth of the lock is made of blue brick with stone copings and includes steps on the north side. This lock is part of the Tardebigge Flight, which is the longest in England, and is included for its group value.
