Description
Lock number 35 on the Worcester and Birmingham Canal was built around 1805, with some repairs made in the late 19th century and mid-20th century. It features a rectangular chamber with stone copings that have been repaired in brick. There is a single gate at the upper end and a pair of gates at the lower end. The mouth of the lock is constructed of blue brick with brick copings and includes steps on the north side. There are 19th-century brick treads for opening the upper lock gate. This lock is included for its group value and is part of the Tardebigge Flight, which is the longest in England.
