Description
The walled garden, located about 10 yards east of Clent House, dates from the early to mid-18th century and has undergone some alterations in the mid-20th century. It is constructed of brick with sandstone coping and features walls that vary in height from 10 feet to 15 feet, enclosing an area of approximately 500 square yards. There are doorways with cambered heads at the corners. The west wall, which is adjacent to Clent House, has a central section about 12 yards long that was modified in the 20th century to a height of around four feet and includes central square gate piers with sandstone capping. The notable length and height of the walls contribute significantly to the original garden layout of the main house, and the garden faces the main entrance front of the current Clent House. This structure is included for its group value.
