Description

The Dunstall Park Bridge and No 19 Lock on the Birmingham Canal were built in 1770 and restored in the 1980s. Designed by James Brindley with engineers R. Whitworth and S. Simcock, the structure is made of brick with stone coping. The bridge features an elliptical arch supported by stone jambs, a brick hood, and a keystone, along with brick-coped parapets and piers. An iron nameplate is located at the center of the bridge. The lock includes double lower gates and a single upper gate, with an overflow channel to the south. This lock is part of a flight of 21 locks on the Birmingham Canal, specifically at the Wolverhampton level.
