Description

Jordans Bridge and No 8 Lock on the Birmingham Canal is a canal lock and bridge built around 1770 by engineers Brindley, Whitworth, and Simcock. The structure is made of brick with some stone coping. It features double bottom gates and a single top gate. The bridge has an elliptical brick arch with a stone key, straight stone-coped piers, and blue double-bullnose brick coped parapets. There is a plaque with the name on the south side. This lock is part of a flight of 21 locks on the Birmingham Canal at the Wolverhampton level.
