Description

Birmingham Canal No 18 Lock is a lock built in 1770 and restored in the 1980s. It was designed by James Brindley, with engineers R. Whitworth and S. Simcock. The structure is made of brick with stone coping. It features double lower gates and a single upper gate, along with an overflow channel to the south. This lock is part of a flight of 21 locks on the Birmingham Canal at the Wolverhampton level.
