Description

The walls, railings, gates, and gatepiers at the west end southwest of the Church of St Peter in Wolverhampton date from the early to mid 19th century. They form a boundary wall and railings that extend from the west end of the north aisle to the southwest corner of the graveyard, returning to the entrance gates and gatepiers. The structure is made of ashlar stone and features cast-iron railings and gates. The boundary wall includes sections of railings topped with ornamental finials, while the iron gate at the north end matches this design. The paired south gates are flanked by stone gatepiers with enriched caps. Additionally, the revetment walls have segmental-headed slabs leading to early 19th-century vaults. This structure is included for its group value.
