Description
The churchyard wall and gatepier located to the south and southwest of the Church of St Bartholomew in Wolverhampton date from the late 18th century to the early 19th century. The wall extends approximately 50 meters along the south side and features a curving return to the gatepier on the west side of the church. It is constructed of brick and has a chamfered ashlar coping. The eastern end of the wall includes a recess for steps and another recess that contains the base of a sewer ventilation pipe. The plain gatepier is topped with an ashlar cap that supports a 20th-century lantern. This structure is included for its group value with the church.
