Description
This is a former barn, dating to the late 18th century, now converted into three houses. It is located to the southeast of Penn Hall. The barn is constructed of brick with a tile roof.
The building is rectangular in shape and two storeys high. It features a central projecting gabled threshing floor entrance, and a similar entrance to the rear. A cogged frieze and coped gables are visible on the projecting entrances. The main entrance has an elliptical arch with a tympanum above a pair of split doors. The six-window range to the right has inserted windows with 16-pane sashes to the first floor, and a ground floor entrance with a glazed door and gabled canopy. The four-bay range to the right has three ground floor windows, with a paired glazed door entrance under a gabled canopy in the third bay.
The rear elevation, facing Penn Hall, displays a datestone in the gable reading "T BRADNEY ESQR/ 1779." A weathercock dated 1734 is also present. Two blind ogee arches are on the left side of the rear elevation, and one to the right. The right end of the barn has a window on each floor, along with a ground floor entrance. The interior of the barn was not inspected during the listing assessment. The building is included on the heritage list for its group value.
