Description

No. 5 Birmingham Street is a shop building from the early 19th century, which has been altered in the early and mid-20th century. The exterior is finished in stucco, with a roof that is hidden behind a coped parapet. The building stands three storeys high and features Corinthian pilasters that extend through the first and second floors to a cornice band located just below the parapet. The front has three windows, with early to mid-20th century iron-framed windows on the second floor and larger windows of a similar style on the first floor. The ground floor has a cast-iron framed shop front from the late 19th century, which was boarded up at the time of the resurvey.
