Description
This warehouse, built between 1840 and 1852, is part of Chance's Glassworks and is located between Hartley Bridge and Canal Bridge in Smethwick. It is constructed of brick and features a hipped slate roof. The south wall, which faces the Birmingham Level of the Birmingham Canal, is two storeys high and sits above a battered clinker base. The lower storey has 15 windows with segmental heads, and to the right of the seventh window, there is a wide doorway with a round arch. The upper storey contains ten wider windows; the five on the left have segmental heads, while the five on the right have flat heads beneath the eaves. Inside, the warehouse has bolted queen-post trusses.
