Description
The seven-storey warehouse and offices at Chance's Glassworks were built in 1847. The structure is made of brick and features hipped slate roofs. The main block is L-shaped and has seven storeys. The west wall consists of six bays with windows that have segmental heads. The left bay includes a wide entrance with a glazed round arch. In the end wall of the wing that extends to the east, there is another bay with windows set within blocked doorways, and above this is a timber bellcote. Attached to the south-west corner is a three-storey office with a bowed west end, featuring windows with gauged brick heads. Inside, the west end of the office contains a two-storey hall with a staircase leading off. The ground floor of the warehouse was used for packing and storage of glass and glassware, the second floor for splitting and cutting, while the upper floors were designated for storing cylinders and crates.
