Description

The war memorial, located in Dartmouth Park, West Bromwich, dates from around 1920 and is made of limestone and bronze. It has a rectangular shape that tapers above its base, featuring a moulded offset. The cornice rises above a central moulded recess, which includes a wreath, swag, and the inscription "IN MEMORY OF THE GLORIOUS DEAD." Below this, one of the ashlar blocks bears the inscription "THEIR NAME LIVETH FOR EVERMORE." At the top of the memorial, there is a bronze figure of a winged female.
