Description
The footbridge over the Old Main Line of the Birmingham Canal at Bromford Junction was built in 1829. It features a cast-iron structure with brick abutments that have some sandstone dressings. The bridge has a single elliptical arch, with each side made from two castings that are bolted to a central "keystone." The sides are designed with a pattern of saltire crosses and include a band of quatrefoils beneath the handrail. The spandrel is inscribed with "HORSELEY IRON WORKS 1829."
